Dental Implant Prosthetics
“Predictable Restorative Techniques”
Unit D

Optimum treatment planning simplifies the restorative process. Today’s implant doctor faces a wide assortment of choices, and must decide between fixed and removable, cemented and screw-retained, ceramic and metal, and cast versus CAD/CAM. This course reviews the variety of restorative options available and presents a protocol for deciding which techniques and materials will provide the best restoration for the patient while increasing efficiency for the doctor.

Course Objective

To provide the dental practitioner with a comprehensive understanding of fixed and removable dental implant restorations that correlate with proper case selection, the latest in components, laboratory and restorative techniques, while providing predictable prosthetic results and patient satisfaction.

Course Description

This 2 day course is designed to expand the practitioner’s knowledge for successful dental implant prosthetics protocols and outcomes.  Removable prostheses that are both implant retained and implant supported using a variety of attachment systems will be shown.  Fixed prostheses from single crowns, to a variety of fixed implant bridge indications and techniques will be discussed.  Fixed hybrid indications and techniques as well as immediate restorations will be reviewed.  For two stage procedures, the staging of implant prosthetics from a transitional restoration to final restoration will be illustrated.   Direct and indirect impression techniques will be shown. A thorough review of occlusion and implant crown design will be explained.  Achieving pleasing cosmetic restorations, including the materials to use, will be covered as well.

Mode of Instruction

This program will be given in lecture format. To ensure “take home” knowledge, clinical cases of each technique will be shown in a step by step manner as well as included in a comprehensive hand out.
